This column finds me sharing news about engagements, grad schools, the circus, tribal languages and the Olympics!

Let's start off with the engagements; I have five to report. Nate Anderson and Jill Garrido were engaged last fall. Jen LaBerge and Reid Hutchins, Th 'oo, were engaged over the holidays and are now living in Austin, Texas. Jen and Reid are planning an August wedding in Burlington, Vermont. Allyson Wendt ran off to join the circus after graduation and ended up meeting her fiance, Ivan Hennessy. In October Allyson and Ivan will be married in the "Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, very close to the winter quarters of the circus where they met." Lindsay Nicholls reported her holiday engagement to her boyfriend of three years, Gary. Lindsay has been working in Watertown, Massachusetts, as a denials associate at Athenahealth after graduating in May from Boston University with a masters in public health. Lastly, Adam Sepulveda wrote to fill me in about Audrey Campbells engagement to Joran Ellis '01. Adam reported that Audrey is "whipping a panoply of undergrads into rowing shape" at the University of Montana, Missoula, "teaching tap dancing in the evenings and taking human biology courses during the day." On weekends Adam, Audrey and Joran head out to the Bitterroot Mountains for some skiing adventures.

Now, on to the grad school news. Cindy Keppel wrote that she is "finally" leaving Boston and her job at Parthenon to spend the summer traveling before moving to California for business school at Stanford. Sabeen Hassanali reported that he is graduating in June from the Graduate School of Education at Harvard with a masters in international education policy. He is hoping to pursue some international work over the summer and then move to Washington, D.C. Erica Mintzer is well settled into her first year at Yale Medical School after a couple years working in Boston at an environmental think tank. Angelina Stelmach wrote that after a year in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of her Ph.D. program in French literature at the University of Pennsylvania, she is back in Philadelphia. She "enjoys romps in Philly dog parks" with her Swiss puppy Merlin (an experienced transatlantic traveler), "has discovered the wide world of TiVo and survived the hazing ritual affectionately known as the Ph.D. exam."

Now, on to tribal languages: Dana Schmidt sent me a message detailing the adventures of classmate Kjetil Lowe. Dana and Dagny Dingman were recently out in Wisconsin visiting Kjetil and her husband, Henning Garvin, who just welcomed their first baby, a little boy named Haakon William. Henning and Kjetil are working on putting together a grammar for their tribal language, Ho-Chunk.The couple is moving to Boston to pursue advanced degrees in linguistics and education with the plan of starting a native immersion school. Haakon is already learning Ho-Chunk!

And the Olympics: Amy Lodge filled me in on her trip to Torino, Italy, where she saw Bradley Wall compete in the giant slalom for Australia. Apparently classmates Bryon Friedman, Eric Reinhardt and Lindsay Jernigan were also in Torino "enjoying the Olympic experience."

That's all for now; keep sending me your updates.
