The 1967 student recruitment program, directed by Gene Gabienelli '53 was very successful. Twelve applicants were accepted for admission to the college, and eleven of these will attend. Among them are John Daniel Logan, son of Joe Logan '42, and John Shapleigh Jr., son of Dr. John B.Sliapleigh '44.
The bi-annual election meeting of our association took place on May 31 at the home of Morton May '36. The new officers are Gene Gabienelli '53, president; GeneGerard '55, vice president; Ed Daumit '60, secretary; and Wells Langbehn '59, treasurer. The outgoing administration, under FrankCurtis '36 as president, is entitled to great credit and much gratitude for a splendid performance.
We have also established an executive committee, consisting of members who have had outstanding experience in civic and educational enterprises, and whose assistance in the various activities of our association will be invaluable. These members are Tom Curtis '32, Morton May '36, FrankCornwell '35, Ernie Grinnell '42, Ed Spiegel'42, Harry Deckert '35, and Bill Rench '34. Tom Curtis and Morton May have in the recent past received particular recognition for their community services in being named in successive years for the St. Louis Man of the Year Award, sponsored by the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. These gentlemen and all the others named are old-timers in the activities of this association, and we are glad to have their continuing interest in our work.
