Greetings from Hanover. Here is more news of classmates.
Ed Crane reports that he and Anne continue to live in Frisco, Colorado (9,000-foot elevation), in the midst of ski country. Ed has always been an avid skier and continues his avocation in both downhill and cross-country modes. He is also an accomplished photographer, having taken pictures in more than 50 countries. A graduate of the University of Vermont Medical School, he began his medical career in Charlotte, Vermont, where he practiced from 1948 until 1975, when he joined the Air Force, continuing his medical career until 1987, when he retired from military service. Retirement has certainly not ended an active lifestyle. In addition to skiing and photography, he has been active in local church affairs, singing groups and the local senior center.
I spoke with Bill Ashley recently by phone. He lives in Jackson, Wyoming, an area of spectacular natural beauty, where he has pursued a career in the retail sporting goods business. He has three sons, including Alan, the vice president for athletics of the U.S. Ski Association, who was busy at the Olympic winter games in Italy. His other two sons are also involved in the ski industry. Bill continues an active lifestyle, including cross country skiing. He feels that, after surviving service in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II, he is fortunate to be alive and to live in such a beautiful part of the country.
John White reports a very successful mini mini reunion in Punta Gorda, Florida, in March, hosted by Alice and Loring Wood with assists from the Whites. Thirteen people attended in all, including Jean and Ted Safford, our class president.
There were five members of our class and two from the class of 1946. The 12th mini-mini will be held in Punta Gorda on March 11,2007. Mark the date on your calendar. Sounds like a great excuse for a trip to Florida!
