Regretfully, the only class news I have right now is the passing on of three eminent classmates. On May 27 it was Jim Donovan, who was one of the few professional soldiers in 1939. He was understandably very proud of his 23-year active duty career in the U.S. Marine Corps, from which he retired as full colonel.

Irv Naitove died on July 4, a victim of cancer. He did very well in commercial factoring and corporate finance.

On the last day of July we lost Ev Woodman, star baseballer in our younger years who enjoyed a distinguished career in higher education and related fields, locally (president of Colby Junior College for 10 years) and abroad (France, India, China).

We extend our deep sympathies to the families of Jim, Irv and Ev. By unofficial count, there are now 88 living members of Dartmouth 1939.
