ACHIEVEMENTS AND HONORS

Michael Prince '63, vice president and CTO of Burlington Coat Factory Ware-House, has been named to the CIO magazine Hall of Fame: 20 IT Leaders of Accomplishment. Dubbed "The Early Adopter," Prince received recognition for pioneering unconventional technologies.

Geeta Anand '89, a senior special writer for The Wall Street Journal, was awarded the 2007 Victor Cohn Prize for Excellence in Medical Reporting for her series on the ethical challenges presented by the growing biotechnology field. In 2003 the N.Y.C.-based Anand shared a staff Pulitzer Prize for research into corporate scandals in the United States.

Richard Freeman '64, a Harvard economics professor and director of the labor studies program at the National Bureau of Economic Research, has been awarded the 2007 Institute of Labor (IZA) Prize in Labor Economics.

Millard "Mike" Coffin '78, most recently director of the seismic research center at the Ocean Research Institute of the University ofTokyo, has been appointed research director for the United Kingdoms National Oceanography Centre in Southampton.

John Buse '80, M.D., was elected president of medicine and science of the American Diabetes Association. He is chief of the endocrinology department at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.

Lan Lane Davis '91, founder and CEO of video game developer Mad Doc Software, was named small-business Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.

Caitlin McNally '03, a documentary filmmaker based in N.Y.C., produced her firs: short online film for PBS's Frontline/World "Rough Cut" series. Congo:On TheTrail of an AK-47 explores the link between small arms trade in Congo and Chinas economic expansion into Africa.
