I just have one word for you all this month—Facebook! Yes, I have finally joined the 21st century and I'm out there, so you never know when I might poke you or invite you to a game of scrabbulous. Actually I've no idea what either of those things means, and while I find Facebook an amazing stroll down memory lane, its also just as equally a mind-boggling time suck. Still, if you're on it, please feel free to contact me that way to send in your updates. Or just friend me so I can look like I have a thousand friends when any of my frenemies from past lives look me up (cause isn't that what Facebook is really all about?).
But back to my Facebook news. I heard from Deme (Navab) Taleghani, who contacted me from Copenhagen, Denmark, where she just relocated from Boston. "My husband, Reza, is CEO of an airline called Sterling. I have a little girl named Nicoletta who is 5 and a little boy named Dino who is 3. Funnily enough, I just saw Tom Boldt in Copenhagen; he is sailing on a massive cruise ship as the ship's acupuncturist. They were docked in Copenhagen so we got to go onboard and see where Tom works and plays. The kids loved it. Before I moved to Denmark, I had a mini-reunion with some other '94s in New York—Catherine (Adams) Stanzler, Lisette (Perez) Digasborro, Sara (Welch) Lardner and Christine Carter. All are doing well: Catherine is living in Boston with her husband, Jamie, and two boys Luke and Sam and is expecting her third (a girl) any day now. Lisette lives in Miami with her husband, Roland, and her two kids Ella and Jack. Sara is married to fellow Dartmouth grad Peter Lardner '92 and living in San Francisco with her three kids Kate, Anna and Tom. And Carter is married and is also living in San Fran with her two girls Fiona and Molly." If any of you are going to be in the Copenhagen area in the near future, you can contact Deme through Facebook to plan a visit; I'm sure she'd love to see you.
Avid readers of my column you may remember that a while back, my history FSP roomie Andrea Fiorentina Liebross charged me with finding another roomie, Elizabeth Greenberg. Thanks to the magic of Facebook I have now done so. After college Elizabeth received her masters of museum studies in historic costume and textiles at the Fashion Institute' of Technology in New York City before attending the Courtauld in London for an art history masters in the history of dress. "The two degrees overlapped nicely a perfect combo of hands-on with more academic. I lived in N.Y.C. for almost 12 years, working at various museums and private archives. My crowning career glory came a few years ago when I was the assistant curator of a major exhibition on the history of Jews in the American garment industry at the Yeshva University Museum called A Perfect Fit.' It was two years of immensely hard work, but so rewarding." After that she became head of the archive at Fairchild Publications, which published Women's Wear Daily and W magazine before they were bought out by Conde Nast. More recently she's been working on another project (come on, what column would be complete without a little baby news?); Nathaniel Haist Greenberg was born October 19, 2007. Elizabeth moved back up to Albany, New York, to be closer to her family, and they have been very much enjoying getting to know the little guy. Elizabeth also writes that her freshman year roommate Susan Manning is Nathaniel's doting godmother. We hope to catch up with Elizabeth the next time we head north, which we are aiming to do soon, so stay tuned!
