As I write this the primary season is in full swing and all eyes are focusing on Texas as a key determinant of who will clinch the Democratic presidential nomination. While Hillary and Barackwill be on the primary ballot, so will Rain Levy Minns, who is running as the only Democratic primary candidate for Texas State Senate District 16 in Dallas. Rain graduated from Cornell Law School and served as an assistant Texas attorney general. Her current legal practice focuses on defending individuals in criminal tax cases. When asked why she's running, Rain responded: "There's a quote from Albert Einstein that the world is dangerous, not just because of the evildoers but because of the people who choose to do nothing about it. So I became convinced to run for office."

Rain will face Republican incumbent John Carona in the November general election.

Now on to the congratulations.

Colin Grey and his wife, Rebecca Levere, welcomed son Milo on February 20. He weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured 22.8 inches from head to toe. A few weeks before he became a new father, I saw Colin, who is a J.S.D. student at New York University School of Law. He worked as a lawyer and law clerk in Canada and would like to teach at a Canadian law school after he completes his studies next year.

Camille (Masini) Barrefo's family also is expanding. She and husband Luis welcomed their second child, Sofia Marita, on December 30. "She weighed 3.74 kilograms [8 pounds, 4 ounces] and we celebrated a great New Year's Eve at the Portland Hospital in London. Our 5- year-old son Damien is delighted to have a little sister."

Robbie Ashe married Blake Eno on December 22 in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Chris Pennock and Nick Gunia were groomsmen. Other Dartmouth guests included Erik Baldwin '98, Sam Bonderoff, Brian Dolan, Dave McDowell, Jess Schutz '98, Amy Stein and Amy Wolfe '98. Robbie and Blake live in Robbies hometown of Atlanta. He is a government affairs consultant and law student, and she clerks for a federal judge.
