On this bitterly cold late February night I am preparing to fete the birthday of our '02 Leap Year baby, Elizabeth Badger, who turns 7 this year. It cozies up my too-recently numb fingers a bit to remember that by the time you are reading this it will be almost May and time again for New York street fairs, Frisbee in Central Park and the Mermaid Parade. Ah. Until then I will have to comfort myself with warm memories of my january trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with Kate Murphy, Abigail Clark, Emily Wood, Rebecca (Eley) Weeks, Tucker (Ballard) Mahoney and Elizabeth (Balanda) Baldwin. We had a lovely ladies weekend, complete with sunset on the beach and impressing even ourselves with a strong performance at a dueling piano bar on A1A. I am pleased to report that the steady stream of class news has not slowed this winter.

Phil Mone wrote in with a newsy update: "I recently spent an afternoon cross country skiing on the Woodstock Inn golf course in Vermont with several Dartmouth friends, including David Manegold and Janet St. Germain and her husband, David Cahill '01. David Manegold lives just off of Lebanon Street in Hanover in a sweet little house with a backyard perfect for BB Qing and pong (the setting for Alumni Green Key 2008?), and after he finishes his M.S. at Thayer he'll be joining a software engineering firm outside of Boston. Janet (now a financial adviser at Merrill Lynch) and David Cahill (a prosecutor in Vermont) live in Norwich and enjoy being active on the competitive skate skiing circuit in Vermont/New Hampshire and Canada. As we schussed Janet and I. enjoyed trading gossip about former classmates and the various ongoing trustee/administration controversies. We also are looking forward to heading to Naperville, Illinois, in August to see our good friends Deanna Kasperski and Seth Hill wed. Deanna has just been chosen to serve as chief resident in internal medicine at UCLA Medical Center for 2009-2010 (after she completes her residency) and Seth recently had his Ph.D. thesis topic approved in the department of political science, also at UCLA. Not to be outdone by the impressiveness of this crowd, I'd like to note that I currently live with my parents outside of Boston, doing household chores to earn my keep."
That's about it for this time around. Please keep sending along your newest. I look forward to hearing from you!
