Hello '06s! I have a lot of exciting news to share this time, so let's get right to it.

Jean Polfus and Joe Hanlon '05 were recently married at Moosilauke Ravine Lodge. Jean reports that about 30 of their guests hiked to the summit of Moosilauke after the ceremony and the bride did the hike in her wedding dress!

Among many Dartmouth alums present were Julia Drury, Justin Blesy, Amy Higgins, Abigail Adams, Colleen Wearn, Alison Crocker, Jeff Woodward, Norah Lake, Anthony Bramante, Carolyn (Treacy) Bramante and Zach Hall. Jean and Joe are currently living in Missoula, Montana, and will be starting their master's degrees in the fall. "Joe is studying anthropology and I am focusing on wildlife biology. I am traveling to northern British Columbia this summer to start my research on woodland caribou." Congratulations on your marriage and exciting plans for the coming year!

Julia Baxter ran in the San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon on June 1; this was Julia's third marathon and she hopes to run in the Boston marathon in the future. She ran with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and personally raised $4,100 for cancer research. Great work, Julia!

Congratulations are in order for Cayelan Carey and Quinn Thomas '05, who recently became engaged and are planning a wedding for the summer of 2009. They are both currently at Cornell pursuing doctoral degrees in ecology.

After 10 years Libby Ludlow has retired from the U.S. Ski Team. Her career included an appearance in the 2006 Olympics as well as winning the 2004 U.S. giant slalom. Libby will be completing her undergraduate degree in the coming year and plans to become a certified yoga instructor.

I've been fortunate to run into James Barkley twice in the past few months as part of his work with the Dartmouth office of alumni relations. James is the new program manager for alumni events, which keeps him busy with reunions, conferences and planning events at which President Wright addresses alumni in their cities. Congratulations on the new job and keep up the good work', James!
