CLASS NOTES
Dartmouth clubs and groups were busy with events recently.
John Bash ’67, president of the Dartmouth Club of Sarasota and Manatee, Florida, reported that on December 4, the club sponsored a road trip to Fort Myers to cheer on the Big Green basketball team playing against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. Club members on the trip included John Bash, Paul Binder ’63, John Bullock ’65, Harry Robinson ’54, Bill Wellstead ’63, and Celia Strickler, adopted widow of Dick Norris ’53. Dartmouth basketball head coach David McLaughlin and associate coach Justin Bradley met with the club and discussed the team. Dartmouth bravely took the game into overtime, only to lose, 78-68.
Richard Hefler ’72, president of the Dartmouth Club of St. Louis, shared that the club had a very nice holiday lunch on December 13. This date was chosen to coincide with the College’s birthday. The lunch had a nice turnout of 30, including six students, each of whom addressed the group with comments about their life on campus this year. The attendees ranged from class of1966 to 2024. It was the club’s first holiday lunch since 2019 and the gathering bodes well for enthusiasm about club activities going forward.
The Dartmouth Club of Suburban New Jersey welcomed six new, early decision members of the class of 2026 at its holiday reception held December 20 at the home of David Dietze, ’78, club president. Club officers who helped to make the event possible included Bill Cunningham ’78 and Joseph Dempsey ’83.
Thank you for continuing to share your news. Please stay safe and send me updates about the great events that your club, association, or affiliated group has organized.
