Announcement has recently been made that Walter S. Adams of the Wilson Observatory has been awarded the Valz medal by the Paris Academy of Sciences, for the most valuable contribution to astronomy during the past year. This is reported to be the first award of its kind ever won by an American. So far as the public records go, this is the first medal ever won by a* member of the class of 1898, and not only reflects great credit on the class but also on the College.

Charles R. Carter is now located on Central St., Boston, with the Employers Liability Assurance Corporation.

Israel Aubey was chosen by competitive examination last year to be one of the chief inspectors of the metropolitan water system in Massachusetts.

David C. Mac Andrew, who was married some years ago, is the proud father of a future Dartmouth half-back.

F. S. Pope, treasurer of the Chicago Trust Company, is on the executive committee handling the National Dartmouth Pow-Wow al Chicago.

Rev. E. W. Snow is teaching at Burdett's Business College in Boston and al jo at Lynn, Mass.

Clarence E. Sibley is now in the insurance business in Brookfield, Mass.

Prof. Fletcher Harper Swift of the College of Education, University of Minnesota, delivered addresses on "School Finance' at the annual meeting of the Texas State Teachers Association, held at Fort Worth, November 29 and 30, and on the same trip gave an address before the College of Industrial Arts at Denton, Texas, on the subject, "Adequately Financing a State System of Education.
