COLLEGE RECEIVES DIPLOMA OF MEMBER OF 1775 CLASS

The diploma of Samuel Collins, a graduate of Dartmouth of the 1775, has been returned to the college as a gift by Dr. J. N. Jenne of Burlington, Vt. Samuel Collins was born in Lebanon, Conn., in 1747, and died at Craftsbury, Vt., in 1807. He was a divinity student and following his graduation from Dartmouth served as pastor of the Congregational Church of Sandown, from 1786 to 1788, and of the Presbyterian Church of Hanover Center 1788 to 1795, and of the Con- gregational Church of Craftsbury 1797 to 1804. The class of 1775 was the fifth class graduated from Dartmouth.
