August 1924

The board of trustees accepted the resignation of the Rev. Frank L. Janeway as college chaplain at its recent annual spring meeting in Hanover. Mr. Janeway, chaplain of the College since September, 1922, has accepted a call to become junior minister of the Westminister Church, Buffalo, N. Y., of which Dr. S. V. V. Holmes is pastor.

As a Commencement preacher before the class of 1922 Rev. Janeway delivered the Baccalaureate sermon June 18, 1922. Previous to that time Mr. Janeway was assistant pastor of the White Church in 1906, and later became pastor, following the resignation of Rev. Ambrose W. Vernon.

After a pastorate of five years in Hanover he held the position of assistant pastor of the Brick Presbyterian Church, New York City, where he remained until his appointment as chaplain of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. During the war he was lieutenant in the Corps of Chaplains of the United States Nayy.

The Rev. Mr. Janeway is a graduate of Princeton of the class of 1901, and of Union Theological Seminary.
