The Chicago alumni won another laurel wreath by the manner in which they provided for the functions and ceremonies attendant upon the football team's invasion of Western Conference territory. The title of "World's Most Hospitable Alumni" remains on the shore of Lake Michigan where it was first won by the "Pow Wow."
At the registration desk of Al'umni Headquarters at the Drake Hotel" 695 Dartmouth alumni recorded themselves as among those present. Of these 408 were from outside Chicago. The 276 who registered from Chicago made up the reception party which won the world's championship. The class of 1925 had the largest delegation on hand for the occasion, 42 of the newest alumni having registered.
The opening gun of the Chicago party was fired Friday night preceding the game when 746 Dartmouth men gathered at a banquet in the Drake Hotel and heard President Hopkins, President Max Mason, of Chicago, E. K. Hall, Chairman of the Football Rules Committee, and Lewis Parkhurst, of the Board of Trustees speak. The speakers were introduced by the "All-American Toastmaster," Jack Childs. The College band was present throughout the banquet and later in the evening broadcast music from WGN.
Throughout the weekend there were numerous class dinners, the dinner of 1910-1911 preceding the dance Saturday night being the largest of these affairs.
There were over 1200 people at the dance given at the Drake following the game, and according to most reports a fine time was had by all.
