The cross-country team met runners from Springfield Y.M.C.A. college in their first meet of the year and won by a score of 22 to 36. Dalrimple, of Dartmouth, who covered the five-mile course in 24 minutes 49 seconds, was first across the finish line, followed by Payne, of Springfield, and McD'onough, of Dartmouth.

The Dartmouth freshmen runners also outpaced the Springfield freshmen, though Pashio, of the visitors, won over the three-mile route in 16 minutes and five seconds.

At Cambridge the Harvard runners defeated the Dartmouth men by a score of 27 to 28. The race' was a close one throughout. Five runners from each team finished among the first ten, but Harvard runners winning first and second places took a lead that Dartmouth could not quite overcome. Tibbetts, of Harvard, who won the event, set a new record of 28 minutes 30 seconds for the course.

The freshmen team also lost to Harvard, the Crimson runners winning by a score of 18 to 37.

Runners from the University of New Hampshire stepped ahead of Dartmouth men in Boston, October 31, in a triangular meet. The score was New Hampshire 25, Dartmouth 33, Brown 72. Peaslee, of New Hampshire, who ran the course in 28 minutes 41 3-5 seconds, won the race.

Preceding the Cornell football game November 7, the Hanover cross-country men completely swamped the Cornell runners, finishing eight men in the first ten to win by a score of 33 to 81.

In the quadrangular meet held over the Van Cortland Park course in New York, November 14, Dartmouth finished second, trailing Columbia. The scores were: Columbia 26, Dartmouth 48, Cornell 59, Pennsylvania 77. Schmidt, of Columbia, the winner, and Auer, of Dartmouth, who finished in second place, both succeeded in breaking the Intercollegiate record. Schmidt's time was 31 minutes 49 4-5 seconds, A'uer's time was 31 minutes 59 seconds. The previous mark for the course had been 32 minutes 10 seconds.
