Pitcher Smith, of Columbia, silenced the Dartmouth artillery in Hanover June 4, allowing only two infield hits by Fusonie and a single by Dey up to the ninth inning when he relented and let Owl hit safely. Meanwhile his teammates blasted two Dartmouth hurlers, Carver, and Van Riper, off the pitcher's mound gathered in the game by a score of 7to 1. Carver retired in the third inning with Columbia runners on first and second. The session ended after some arguments as to wild pitches by Van Riper when Fusonie speared Smith's long fly and by a perfect throw completed a double play in nailing a Columbia runner at the plate.
Dartmouth's lone run was scored by Fusonie who beat out a scratchy infield hit in the second inning and scored on Dey's single.
