J, R. McLANE '07 TO SUCCEED C. B. LITTLE '81 AS ALUMNI TRUSTEE
December, 1925

Owing to the recent election of Clarence B. Little '81 as Life Trustee a vacancy has been created among the Alumni Trustees of the College. In case of such vacancies nominations to complete the unexpired term must be made by the Alumni Council and transmitted forthwith to the trustees. In this type of vacancy the constitution does not provide for further alumni nominations by petition. ,

Acting on this matter the Council at its meeting in Chicago nominated John R. McLane 'O7 of Manchester, N. H., to complete Mr. Little's term. The charter of the College required in this case that the nominee be a resident of New Hampshire. Mr. McLane is a native of Milford, N. H., having received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth in 1907, a similar degree from Oxford as Rhodes Scholar in 1909 and the degree of Bachelor of Laws from Harvard in 1912. He is a trustee of St. Paul's School, Concord, N. H., and of the Eliot Hospital in Manchester. During the war he served with the Industrial Relations Branch of the Quartermaster's Corps. He was a member of the Alumni Council from 1913-1918 and is a lawyer by profession.
