In September St. Matthew's church of Goffstown, N. H., one of the three advanced high churches in the Episcopal diocese of New Hampshire, observed the festival of its patron saint. The rector of this church is Rev. Francis M. Banfil, and this year he was able to secure the presence of Rev. Granville Mercer Williams, assistant superior of S.S.J.E. and rector of St. Paul's church, Brooklyn, N. Y., for the elaborate ceremonials connected with this annual festival.
Henry S. Holton closed the Park Hotel at Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., on October 1, with the close of the season, to go to Waukesha, Wis., for six weeks' rest and general treatment for diabetes and some internal complications. He has turned his hotel over to a stock company, which will build and operate a new and enlarged house on the same premises. This transition period gives him time to attend to various other enterprises, not least of which is the care of the estate of his late partner, consisting of various mining and timber properties in California, Oregon, Colorado, and Arizona. From Waukesha he expects to go to St. Paul, where he expects to see Dr. Heath, whom he has not seen since his graduation.
