Dartmouth defeated Princeton 23 to 18 in a basketball game played in Alumni Gymnasium February I, when the Green team, exhibiting great improvement over the form displayed against Columbia went into second place in the Intercollegiate League standing.
Captain Dey, of Dartmouth, caged the first basket of the evening after both teams had shown several minutes of fast floor work held in check by close guarding. The defensive play was continued, however, throughout the first half which closed with both teams having scored but six points.
Play was speeded up in the second half of the game and Dartmouth assumed the lead never to be headed by the New Jersey team. The return to the Green line1 up of Picken, who had been ineligible throughout the first semester, greatly strengthened the Hanover attack. For Dartmouth Langdell scored eight points, Picken six, Dey five, and Whittaker four.
