Dartmouth, with six men entered in the sixth annual college week winter sports competition held at Lake Placid from December 28 through January 1, finished second with 23 points, while New Hampshire won the meet with a total of 32.

The Green team entered eight events and succeeded in winning two first places and two seconds. C. N. Proctor '28 was high scorer for Dartmouth.

Competing with Dartmouth were New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Williams, Bates, McGill, Ottowa, and others. However, only New Hampshire and Dartmouth made any appreciable showing.

The events in which Dartmouth men placed were: 7-mile cross-country ski race, T. T. Brittan '29 third, C. N. Proctor '28 fourth; 2-mile snow-shoe race, L. B. Mason '28 second; 2-mile skating race, J. W. Laffey '29 first, S. I. Harris '27 fourth; 440-yard skating race, S. I. Harris '27 fourth, J. W. Laffey '29 fifth; figure skating, W. L. North '27 sixth; ski proficiency contest, C. N. Proctor '28 first; downhill ski race, C. N. Proctor '28 second, T. T. Brittan '29 fourth; ski jumping, C. N. Proctor '28 fifth.

The Dartmouth winter sports team captured first place in the intercollegiate ski meet held at Quebec, January 15 and January 16. The scores were Dartmouth 12, Laval 8, and Loyola 2.

In the intercollegiate six-mile cross country ski race January IS, Brittan of Dartmouth finished first, while Proctor, also of Dartmouth captured third place. This event gave the Green team seven points. Five points were added in the ski-jumping events on the following day.
