The twenty-third annual meeting and dinner of the Thayer Society of Engineers was held at the Dartmouth Club, New York city, on January 18, 1927. Forty-three members were in attendance, including Director-Emeritus Robert Fletcher and Dean Marsden from the Thayer School, and Otis E. Hovey, T.S. '89, E. J. Morrison, T.S. '93, and A. C. Tozzer, T.S. '03j of the board of overseers. P. L. Thompson, T.S. '09, treasurer of the Society, acted as toastmaster and chairman.

Greetings to the Society were received from President Hopkins, Jonathan P. Snow '75, honorary member of the Society and former member of the board of overseers, Professors Lockwood and Richmond from Hanover, C. F. Goodrich, president of the Society, absent on a business trip to California, F. H. Munkelt, secretary of the Society, absent on a business trip to Kansas City, Mo., and the members of the classes of 1927 and 1928 of the Thayer School.

The program of the meeting included an appreciation of the life and work of Dr. Tucker, by O. E. Hovey followed by reminiscences of this most beloved and respected member of the Society by Professor Fletcher, E. J. Morrison, and others; remarks by A. C. Tozzer on the activities of the board of overseers, by Professor Marsden on the new curriculum at the School, by E. J. Thompson on the Robert Fletcher Fund, and by E. J. Morrison on the future of the School; and an address by Professor Fletcher on "Individualism in the Engineering Profession."

The following were elected to ' the advisory board of the Society for two years: R. R. Marsden, T.S. '09, C. F. Chase. T.S. '89, J. P. Brooks, C.S.D. '85; and to the executive committee for one year: C. F. Goodrich, T.S. '06, F. H. Munkelt, T.S. '09, P. L. Thompson, T.S. '09, R. N. Miller, T.S. '20, W. J. Montgomery, T.S. '20.
