Do you Support the offer of the Rockefeller Center and Thayer School To Bring John Sununu to Dartmouth as a visiting fellow?
APRIL 1992

We asked 50 students:

ALTHOUGH 74 PERCENT of the students approved the Sununu invitation, not one would admit to liking either Sununu's views or his personality. Students argued on Sununu's behalf by pointing out the opportunity to learn by his experience ("Ft would be assisine to miss the benefit of his experiences because of his views. We aren't Communists.") and by his mistakes ("As long as he is willing to admit what he did is wrong, I have no problem with the offer.").

On the other hand, five students thought the issue should not be whether Sununu stoops to Dartmouth Col lege but the other way around. One said, "No, I don't think that Dartmouth should bring John Sununu to Dartmouth as a visiting fellow. This man should not be rewarded for having got his hand caught in the cookie jar."

After we took the poll, the subject became moot: Sununu turned the offer down.

Sununuchose notto come.
