Assisted by a dozen members of New York and Boston orchestras interested in Hanover's music programs and by Frances Sebel, soprano, Devora Nadworney, contralto, Judson House, tenor, and Theodore Webb, baritone, the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra and the Hanover Community Chorus joined in an impressive presentation of Beethoven's ninth symphony which featured the program for the Commencement season. The concert was under the direction of Professor M. F. Longhurst, who has developed the two Hanover organizations and conducted their concerts in the past. The concert was sponsored by the Trustees of the College whose generosity made it possible and who were greatly interested in the project.
