At the annual meeting of the United Baptist Convention of New Hampshire in Concord in October, John Lew Clark of Exeter was chosen president of the association for the coming year.

Fred Lewis Pattee has resigned the professorship of American literature at the Pennsylvania State College, a position held by him for 34 years, and has taken a lectureship position in Rollins College, Winter Park, Fla. He will enter into his new duties January 1, and his post office address after that date will be Coronado Beach, Fla. He is to be a member of the board of editors of a new journal of literary history, criticism, and bibliography entitled "American Literature." This will be published quarterly by the Duke University Press with the cooperation of the American Literature Group of the Modern Language Association of America.
