Arthur H. Chase, accompanied by Mrs. Chase on a trip around the world, wrote on November 27 from Hong Kong, where they had spent some four weeks. They were to leave the following day for Manila, and rejoin the main party at Singapore on December 13, going then through India and reaching Egypt about February 19. From there they planned to "loiter along" staying as long as the spirit might move in Cairo, Florence, Paris, and England. They expect to reach Boston in October.
Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Campbell found pleasure again in planning a West Indies cruise, leaving home the latter part of January to be absent a few weeks. "Dick" is president of the Campbell Investment Company of Denver.
William K. Ferguson is now located in Washington and employed in connection with the custody of rare books at the Congressional Library. The Secretary called upon "Ferg" recently in his library office, and while chatting with him Homer E. Keyes '00, accompanied by the librarian, Mr. Putnam, came along on a tour of inspection. "Ferg" is also establishing a business connection in Washington, which engages his spare time.
The decease of Calvin P. Fellows on March 5, 1926, in Worcester, Mass.. (not known to the Secretary until late fall), and of William E. Baxter on April 3, 1927, at St. Augustine, Fla., took two of our non-graduate classmates who in their undergraduate days were exceedingly popular. Mrs. Baxter kindly supplied the data for an interesting biographical article.
Miss Ruth Ransom, eldest daughter of George and Eliza Ransom, was married on January 28 to Mr. Gordon A. Fletcher. Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher are residing at 19 Pomander Walk, West 95th Street, New York city.
William M. Hatch, as recently announced by Silver, Burdett, and Company, has retired from active service and association with the firm for over twenty-seven years, during which he was agent, manager, director, secretary, and vicepresident, with headquarters in Boston. His retirement took effect on March 1, 1928. Mr. and Airs. Hatch will continue to reside in Arlington, where he is a member of the local school committee.
Mr. and Mrs. Ned C. Wardwell, writing from Carmel, Cal., on March 6, 1928, report: "Wintering in the auto on the Pacific Coast. No permanent home until next summer."
