Associate Editor of the Magazine

PHIL MARDEN'S circle of alumni friends is so large that an extended introduction is not necessary. However, some will not realize how varied are his Dartmouth activities.

A MEMBER of the small but distinguished class of 1894 he stands high in its councils and usually acts as scribe for its more formal activities. Since 1920 he has generously devoted his editorial gifts to this MAGAZINE and has gained a reputation throughout the field of alumni magazines as a genial and discriminating observer of college problems.

HE is a valued member of the Alumni Council where he now serves as chairman of the Committee on Alumni Projects and member of the Fund Committee whose literature and mailing pieces often bear the mark of his pen.

OUTSIDE Dartmouth circles he is widely known as the editor of theLowell Courier-Citizen and even more widely as the auhis experiences as a voyager in Mediterranean lands and southern seas.
