Only one sophomore has shown enough to be retained as a varsity man, and that is none other than good old Hank Barber, 235 pounds and all, who stepped out in the Dartmouth line last fall to play inspired football. Barber is a small (not so small) edition of Babe Ruth, and, like the Babe, is a left hander. He has been playing right field and even doing a little pitching on the side. It is a curious fact that Dartmouth has now had three left-handed fielders who also pitched on the southern trip, Barber's predecessors being Hank Bjorkman and Al Fusonie. Barber, a sophomore, has a great deal to learn about the finer points of batting, but it is our bet that before he gets through he will be a colorful slugger and that is what Dartmouth needs at present.
