The Secretary was informed of Saben's death (see under Necrology) by Abbott. Classmates and many other friends will be glad to know of Abbott's almost miraculous recovery from the paralysis of the vocal cords which deprived him of speech for a year. His conversational powers now are fully restored, and he can even preside at and address meetings in a small hall, but singing and shouting are still beyond him. He continues to reside at Greenfield, Mass.
Judge Edwin Bell Weston will represent the class of 1893, as well as the town of Derry, in the New Hampshire constitutional convention, which convenes in Concord the first week in June. Stillings, Chadbourne, and Calef were chosen to various town offices at the Granite State March meetings of this year.
Gordon and Saltmarsh represented '93 at the annual Boston alumni dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon sailed on April 5 for three months in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, and England. Dr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Lougee report a delightful winter at St. Petersburg, Fla., where they especially enjoyed the companionship of Professor Edwin B. Frost '86, the famous astronomer, and Mrs. Frost.
Horace F. Hoyt, 87, who will be remembered as a veteran town officer of Hanover, died recently at the home of his son-in-law, John D. Ayer, at Claremont.
Secretary, 104 North State St., Concord, N. H.
