Morrill sailed for Europe early in August, purposing a stay of several months. His latest reporting is from Stockholm; in prospect are Norway, north Germany, and France with a return in November.

For the first time in a number of years Peabody did not make a summer photographic tour of the southwestern states. He has remained at his home in Pasadena, where his daughter from the East has been his housemate.

McCuteheon has had a busy season at his home, with new furnishings and improvements, not omitting the while long walks, calls on friends, and correspondence.

Hay's address is "General Delivery, Worcester, Mass.," with a winter address likely at no distant day.

Abbott's impaired health limits his correspondence to brief letters, but his routine of literary work goes on as heretofore.

Thayer was definitely missed at the reunion in June. He was kept away by an unexpected engagement. His home in North Charlestown amid scenes made familiar through previous residence, a married daughter near at hand, seems most satisfactory.

There is a tone of content in a long letter from Hunt, written at his home at Riverside, Cal. As with Thayer, he has returned to a region where he had residence years ago.

Piper has spent a greater portion of the summer at his old home at Dublin, N. H. His time has been given to some definite repairs on buildings, to gardening and other routine work, and to correspondence. Hardison and the members of his household called in July; Ned Kenerson has called twice.

Judah M. Holt died at his home in Marshalltown, lowa, September 5, after a short illness.
