A monument fountain, erected in Pocahontas Park, Cero Beach, Fla., by the Rotary Club of that city, in memory of Rev. Charles H. Pettibone, D.D., was dedicated with appropriate ceremonies early last March. The monument, constructed of rough-dressed coquina rock, is six feet in height, two feet thick, and twenty feet from end to end. The center panel is twelve feet in length. Two fountains and a basin are located at the center of this panel. Above the fountain is a bronze tablet imbedded in the rock, bearing the legend, "In Memoriam to C. H. Pettibone, D.D.," and above the tablet is a bronze emblem of the Rotary Club. At each side of the
fountain are commodious stone seats. The approach is to be ornamented with palm trees and other foliage. In accepting the memorial on behalf of the city, the mayor said in part: "As the years roll on and our children and the future generation while viewing this memorial ask who Dr. Pettibone was, it will be with a sense of pride for those of us who are spared to tell them that he was one whom it was a privilege to know, one who was a leader in his church, one who was a leader in his clubs, one who was a leader in civic affairs, one whose leadership was felt in every branch of our community life, and one whose loss was so great that it was felt that his influence should be perpetuated by this beautiful memorial."
Convinced by a recent experience in their own family of the efficacy of the latest type of respiration machine in certain crises, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Parkhurst have again demonstrated their thoughtfulness and generosity by the gift of such a machine for the use of Dick's House and Hitchcock Hospital.
