A new plan of rotation in the allotment of football tickets to the classes of alumni will go into effect this fall, it has been announced by Harry R. Heneage, supervisor of athletics. The change has been made according to the recommendation of the committee appointed by President Hopkins last March at the request of Mr. Heneage for the survey of the problems of the distribution of football tickets. The recommendation was made in a preliminary report submitted to President Hopkins by E. K. Hall '92, chairman of the committee, just prior to Commencement. In submitting the preliminary report, Mr. Hall indicated the desire of the committee to make further study of ticket distribution during the present season before submitting a final report.
The committee recommended that the former method of giving classes preferences as to seats in the chronological order of their graduation from college be discontinued. In substitution a plan was submitted whereby the last 40 classes will be divided into five groups of eight classes each, such groups to be made up of classes which hold their reunions together. For instance, one group would consist of the classes of '92, '97, '02, '07, '12, '17, '22 and '27. Preference will be given to these five groups in rotation, the group of the classes which are to have their reunions in the spring following to be given the best seats. This plan makes it certain that at least once in five years there will be assurance of receiving good seats.
Classes more than 40 years out of college will continue to receive preference under the new plan as under the former system.
