Trustee Election
October 1932

The election of Philip Sanford Marden '94, of Lowell, Mass., as alumni trustee to succeed Fred A. Howland '87 was announced at the Commencement luncheon. Mr. Howland, who has become ineligible for re-election after two terms of service, has been a member of the board of trustees since 1922.

Mr. Marden was nominated to succeed Mr. Howland at the meeting of the Alumni Council held in Boston last November, and the nomination was passed upon favorably by the board of trustees at its meeting Saturday.

Mr. Marden has had long service as a member of the Alumni Council and an editor of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. For a number of years he has served as a member of the Alumni Fund committee. He is editor of the Lowell Courier-Citizen, and holds the LL.B. degree from Harvard and an A.M. degree conferred upon him by the College in 1914.
