One of the tragedies of the class golf championship in June was the elimination of Bill Grimes at the first hole. Jerry Macdonald and Walter Wehrle—his caddy and coach—told him too late where the green was. Bill's misfortune was a triumph for Bill Smart—up to that time class champion—because he won a dollar from Bill for overstaying him. Bill fell by the wayside at the second hole. Among the potential possibilities for future champion was King McCoy. He's a real threat for champion Worthen's crown in 1937.
