Virginia has just joined the Marines, probably to keep in step with her Middlebury pal who is a Marine somewhere on the Pacific. "Enjoy occasional contact here with Jon Piper, Bill Ahearn, Harry Pelren, Merton Knapp. See McCoy now only at serious state affairs, apparently trying to compensate for a misspent youth. Spent a recent evening reminiscing with Fin Sleeper 'O6, now located here with O.D.T. Am myself still working at the job of keeping the B & M R.R. rolling."
Another classmate who is properly proud of his children is Tim Richards of Pawtucket, R. I. He reports: "My son, Earl T. Junior, is now an ensign in USNR, and stationed at Fort Schuyler, N. Y., for his indoctrination work, after which he expects to be at the Boston Navy Yard for further training. My daughter, Ruth, and her husband, Paul Allen Norton, on Jan. 12, made Carlotta and me the proudest grandparents ever, with a grandson, Richard Allen Norton, at the Newton Hospital.
"I am still busy at Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Cos. in Providence, R. 1., constructing new buildings mostly of late to be used for locker, toilet, wash and rest rooms for women, of whom we have now about two thousand and are expecting more, doing work formerly done by men."
