Chicago Annual Dinner
APRIL 1932

The Chicago banquet this year held the evening of February 28 was a highly successful affair despite the fact that the attendance was somewhat smaller than last year. The meeting as usual was held in the Crystal Ballroom of the Blackstone Hotel, and 175 persons were on hand to hear Dean Laycock. John P. St.Clair '26 acted as toastmaster.

Following the practice of the past two or three years applicants for admission to the College next fall and their fathers were invited and a number of these men attended the meeting. The principals of the leading high and preparatory schools in the Greater Chicago district were also present as guests of the Association.

The presidents of the Harvard, Yale, Cornell, and Stanford Alumni Associations or their representatives were honored guests at the speakers table and were called upon for brief remarks. Dr. Harry W. Chase '06, president of the University of Illinois, was expected to be present as guest and speaker, but at the last minute he was not able to be on hand.
