The result of the election contest for the vacancy on the Alumni Council from the Central States district will first be announced at the annual Commencement meetings of the Council to be held in Hanover June 17, 18. The name of the winner in the election contest between William H. Bemis '18 of Cleveland and Ford H. Whelden '25 of Detroit will be first publicly announced at the Commencement Luncheon at the Alumni Gymnasium, June 20.

Another position of importance to alumni will be filled by the trustees of the College at their meeting June 18 when the nomination to the board of Philip S. Marden '94 of Lowell, Massachusetts, will be acted upon. Mr. Marden has been nominated by the Council to succeed Fred A. Howland '87 of Montpelier, Vermont, who this year completes his second term as an alumni trustee.

Other business to be considered by the Council at its coming meetings will include reports by several committee chairmen and discussions of problems confronting the College. The annual dinner will again be held at the President's house through the kindness of President and Mrs. Hopkins. It is planned to make the dinner a joint affair with all members of the board of trustees, and past and present members of the Council invited. The final item of business on the Council program will be the election of officers for next year and the selection of two members at large to fill the expiring terms of F. H. Leggett '98 of New York city, who will be ineligible for reelection having completed two. terms of three years each, and Wright Hugus '13 of Wheeling, West Virginia, who will this year complete his first term of three years and will be eligible for reelection.
