Robert A. McKennan '25 of the Department of Sociology was one of the 42 American scholars recently named as recipients of research grants from the Social Science Research Council. The grants are designed to assist mature scholars in the completion of research projects already under way. Dr. McKennan's fellowship will enable him to return to Alaska to complete an ethnographic study of the Kutchin group of Athabascan Indians, on which he has already done considerable work. His previous research has been incorporated in several books and in his course in anthropology.
