Ted leggett '98 contributes the following story after reading the collection of items about Lon Gove that appeared in these pages recently. Ted says that Lon, who was clerk at the Inn for a great many years, being generally regarded as older than the Inn itself, "was not only a famous town character but a mighty lovable chap." It seems that an elderly lady stopped at the Inn desk and asked Lon if there was an encyclopedia there. Lon replied, "No, Madam, I am sorry, but what is it you would like to know?"
