OUR FALL OPENER on September 16 was an informal gathering of seventeen men in President Colton's private rathskeller. There was a bountiful buffet supper with plenty of beer, talk, and Dartmouth songs on tap. Judd McCarthy was elected second vice president to head the entertainment committee in place of Henry Douglas, resigned. We were glad to have with us Jack Hodges '30, now located in Baltimore, and sorry to learn that Al Lathrop is moving soon to St. Louis. During the evening the much disputed Ping Pong Championship was won by Tink Lombard who defeated Bob Hazard in straight sets. Smokey Joe Adams of the Baltimore News-Post, gave us an informal talk on the revolution in Spain that was very interesting and enlightening.
