THE FAREWELL SEND-OFF to Bob Hazard, planned for our March meeting, turned out to be something else again, his induction into the military service having been deferred, for how long seems uncertain.

An article was published in March, by a correspondent of The Baltimore Sun, featuring among others, Captain Arthur L. Flinner '35, who is now commander of an artillery battery in England, having risen since the beginning of the war from the rank of private. The article is headed by Art's photograph, and describes a project for teaching nonswimmers in the army at least the rudiments of the art, so that they will have a chance of saving themselves in case they are unexpectedly thrown into the water. Art has been acting as one of the instructors for his battalion. Before his enlistment he was treasurer of our Club, and for several years had been an active and popular member.
