Just in case anyone shed tears of sorrow because of Alec Jardine's cold vigil in Bangor, Me., demand them back for a short note from the Sears Roebuck store manager tells of his demanded transfer and the resultant change to Danbury, Conn. For the time being he is a man about town, but in June expects to have his family with him once more. Okay, Alec, we will be seeing you as soon as the snow decides to allow us to travel once more. A letter from Ken Stowell, who is going to serve on our publicity committee, states that he now heads one of Mr. Hearst's publication, American Architect. Great going, Ken, we will be invading the limits of New York very shortly. For the coming reunion we are trying to work out something in the way of pictures, past and present, that we hope will be of particular interest. Honey Abraham, Paul Goward, and Max Bernkopf are the members of this committee. Bear in mind that without your cooperation and that of your mem book theirs is a hopeless task. Any suggestions I know will be of great interest to them. Fred Bailey has wrung himself loose from the laundry business and is now representing the Kenworthy Company and several other kindred lines for chain store consumption. Reports are that he is very happy in his new work. From Gran Fuller comes the dope that Cliff Bean is still on the road to recovery. Cliff is still in Melrose Highlands, and is now able to get out considerably more than he has at any time since his confinement. Gran recently spent a few days in New York City and spent an evening with John Ames and Ed Kiley in working up their organization for attendence among the members in Greater New York City. To John Ames we are also indebted for the following item concerning Alec Dean, assistant professor of play production at Yale. The producers of "Russet Mantle" by Lynn Riggs were in doubt as to the ability of the performance to command attention in New York, so much in doubt that they were about to abandon the ship, but instead changed directors and brought Alec down from New Haven to take command. By changing the entire script for laughs, the play opened and in its first three days of existence grossed $600, 1689, and $1152, which is called progress in any field. Alec then returned to New Haven to take up his duties there. To Fletch Andrews goes my heartiest thanks for his recent letter. How I missed it, Fletch, I do not know. But Fletch is the only '16 man on the Alumni Council. Attended his first meeting in New York City last fall and was able to take in the Princeton, game. Last summer he and his wife toured Europe taking in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, and England. They crossed on the Rex and returned on the Normandie. Fletch is now a fullfledged professor of law at Western Reserve in Cleveland. Your Secretary finally has settled an abode of his own—59 Mason Drive, New Britain, and welcome is written all around the place for any of you that happen this way.
