There will also be a class meeting that morning to begin plans for the 25th Reunion. That's a sobering thought which is undoubtedly why the meeting is planned before the party and not afterwards.

The rave reviews continue on BurtonBernstein's new book, Thurber. Back in 1970 when he was asked to write this authorized biography, Burton was understandably reluctant until Helen Thurber promised him complete cooperation and complete control of the finished manuscript. The book completed, an imbroglio was inevitable. "I was after the truth and when Helen saw it she really blew her stack," Burton says ruefully. "She felt the tone was overly negative. We haven't spoken since, and I feel bad because she really is a marvelous woman."
We are sorry to report the sad news that Sandy Learnard passed away in April. The cause was one of those lightening fast cancers that was first detected around Christmas. Sandy is survived by his parents, two sisters, and his bride of last fall, Maggie.
That's it until October. Have a good summer. Keep in touch.
