The new address of Rev. A. H. Ross is Hewaldestrasse-2, Berlin-Schoneberg, Germany. He is temporary pastor of the American church in Berlin, but expects to return for the Fiftieth. He expressed the wish that he had been at Hanover the night after the game with Yale. .... The following item is taken from the Boston Transcript:
"The trustees of Tufts College have announced (with regret), their acceptance ofthe resignation of Professor George P.Bacon, dean of the engineering school, atthe end of the academic year.
"Professor Bacon has served as deansince 1929. He came to Tufts from Simmons College in 1919 as head of the physicsdepartment. His administration as deanhas been marked by progressive changes,improving the curriculum by broadeningthe scope of the several courses and introducing more fundamental and theoreticalcourses. His career as a physics teachercovers nearly a half a century.
"He was formerly professor of physicsat Simmons College, the College of Wooster, Beloit College, and Ripon College. Heis a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Tau BetaPi, and Theta Delta Chi, and holds fellowships and memberships in the AmericanPhysical Society, the American Associationfor Advancement of Science, the AmericanAstronomical Society, and the Society 'forthe Promotion of Engineering Education.He is a graduate of Dartmouth College anddid his graduate work at the University ofMichigan and the University of Berlin."
His son Roger has been with the Doble Engineering Cos. as consulting engineer this past year. One daughter is doing research work at the Harvard Law School, the other is spending her sabbatical year m Washington in work connected with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. • • • • Dr. Brackett delivered the address at Founders' Day Convocation, Pomona College, last fall,—an item due last January ary A recent letter from Emerson '84 mentioned that our Steve's wife and daughter Muriel came East last summer and were at Kennebunk, Me. Mr. Emerson now resides at So. Pasadena, Calif Ed Knight went to Florida as usual last winter and in March was at Miami Beach. .... The class will sympathize with '88 in the loss of Gregory. From his association with us at the October dinners in Boston we felt that he was one of us Ruth Sanborn Cobb has opened a cooking class at her home in Cambridge, not a course in fundamentals but a post-graduate course in gastronomies With '86 Fiftieth close at hand, it behooves us to get busy on our own, and to accumulate a surplus of cash for the occasion. Such surplus is not taxable under any law thus far proposed.
