THE ST. LOUIS CLUB is picking up its activities again after the summer lull. The regular Saturday luncheons held informally at the Hotel Mark Twain in the Versailles Room were continued throughout the summer, but vacations and golf took their toll of the attendance. With the fall we are getting large turnouts again. The monthly smokers are beginning again with the first one on Monday, Oct. 18, at the home of Max Waldsmith '33.
The St. Louis Club had its spring and fall outings on the first Sunday in June and the last Sunday in September. The results were so satisfactory that agitation is now on foot for a return engagement before the Indian Summer leaves us. These outings are held in the old Spring House Party tradition of sports and the keg; the most popular games being Softball and Ronny McDonald. The turnout of the latest picnic totaled 35 member and feminine guests.
We are glad to welcome to our ranks Phil Mayher '29, who is representing Kendall Mills in these parts, Ozzie Merkt '33, who is connected with Procter and Gamble, Sumner Burrows '36, and Charley Cotsworth '34. Harold Dunbar 'l4, and Tom Williams '3l have been with us a little longer but are still comparatively recent arrivals. Bill Rench '34 and Phil Bassett '3O who have recently been hanging around New York have returned to their native soil. Ernie Curtis, Tuck. '37, is in St. Louis; Walter Ross '37 is reporting the latest for the Post Dispatch. Ben Gutman '37 and Bus May '37 are also old friends whom we are glad to greet as alumni.
On the other hand we miss Dan Kerwin '35 who has gone to live in Louisville.
