Word came to the Secretary that Prichard had moved to New Jersey, but a letter under date of November 9 tells otherwise: "Peterborough is still my residence. I was in New Jersey for six weeks in the early summer.

"Since June 1st I have been on the shelf. I found I was suffering from duodenal ulcers and was in rather bad shape. The local doctors didn't properly diagnose the case, hence my trip to New Jersey, where I was in the right hands. I have gained from 118 pounds to 148 and am beginning to feel more like myself, though the doctor warns me not to do any work before spring. Of course I putter around and try to flatter myself that I am an essential cog in the local wheel. I expect to spend the winter in St. Petersburg, leaving here the week after Thanksgiving.

"Didn't it rain at the Dartmouth-Harvard football game! I had just settled myself into my seat when Bugbee took the seat behind me. He was the only one that I knew."
