1910 FRESHMEN at Hanover are: Sidney H. Bull, son of Sid. Franklin S. Cushman, son of Norton. Wm. T. Holmes, son of Micky. Jas. W. Robinson, son of Harold. N. Harris Sherman, son of Nate. Donald L. Stern, son of Shorty. John C. Tobin, son of Clarke. Rob't H. Wells, son of Harry.
This makes a total of 72 sons whom 1910 has sent to Dartmouth, far outstripping the next class, which is 1908 with 51 This 40% lead which we maintain over other classes is, without doubt, due in great part to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE having gone into the homes of all members of the class for the last eight consecutive years, which were the formative years of our second generation.
THE SONS CARRY ON With Sid Bull Jr., Nate Sherman Jr., and Jack Tobin running all opposition ragged, Harry Hillman's victorious freshman cross country team looks like a late 1910 edition You'll hear more of these boys in the next four years of Dartmouth track activities.

AT THE BROWN GAME IN HAN-OVER were Jim Everett, Jack Bates, Earle Pierce, Pineo Jackson, Bones Jones, Charlie Bardwell It's a tough job listing men at big football games, but our peregrinating reporters do a swell job, year in and year out, just the same as the whole class does in keeping our columns filled with news.
MAURICE BLAKE, back from a summer in Europe, looks great Ben Williams hunted in Maine a lot this fall Pineo Jackson also had a trip down east. ...Charlie Jackson is at Vermont Academy, Peanuts is back at Eaglebrook Their sister Katherine is at Wheelock School in Boston An obituary of Paul Taylor, who passed away last April, is in the Necrology section Belated news of his death just reached your Secretary.
"WINTER QUARTERS." Ferdinand Douglas Armstrong, who was born at Winchester, Mass., in '87 to toot a mean horn in the D. C. Band, has come down from Friendship, Me., to enliven the 186 Waban Ave., Waban, Mass., neighborhood during the winter months Les Wiggin is back in California again, receiving treatment at the National Military Hospital, Los Angeles Les writes, "Reaching the age of 50 may have its compensations, and no grumbling is in order when Uncle Sam pays the bills; so-o-oh,—l'm taking the easiest way and keeping cheerful. Sometimes I feel like kicking a French actress or rather I feel as kicky as a French actress, and generally speaking, I could hold down even a granite quarry job with avidity. However, is is is Kindest regards to all, and watching Dartmouth as enthusiastically as ever, but not getting much satisfaction from these purely Chamber of Commerce newspapers
"EASTY" continues his skyward career, recently elected V. P. of Archer-DanielsMidland Cos., chairman of Board of National Soybean Processors Ass'n We saw quite a lot of Whit during the Harvard game week-end and enjoyed it a lot Our Skidmore daughters drove down from Saratoga together, Easty's Betty, who is a peach of a girl, brains, personality, and a smile Our own Katherine calls her a "natural." .... That night after die game we all met at Durgin Park's down in the Market for one of those old-time feeds, "Easty" arriving first to subsidize the whole darn outfit in a mad-house Sat. night rush. Munching hot johnnycake between courses, he and I as Old Bucks had a grand time with the youngsters in our party, who included aforementioned daughters, their friends, my nephew Crawford, Gordon Bennett (these two D. '37) and Andy Kerr Jr., Colgate '37, the latter three being classmates at Harvard Medical Everything from economics to football was discussed. .... Even though young Andy had never played on the varsity at Colgate, he knew his stuff the whole length of the alphabet, having scouted Holy Cross for his dad during the fall, as well as Dartmouth for Stanford That ex-football captain Gordon Bennett is a truly fine lad, reminding in some ways of Johnny Glaze.
LO AND BEHOLD! Across the old loft sat Earle Howard and Dorothy Bankart Pierce with son Earle Jr. down from Larry Leavitt's Vermont Academy for the weekend, and the Norton Cushmans with Dartmouth freshman son Franklin all having a get-together, then who should come over to our 10-acre table but Jerry Graves, looking fine and fit as any track manager of two decades plus eight should It was a grand evening for 1910 and Old Lady Durgin-Park, who still maintains as of yore.

Orange Ed Shattuck, whose family summered at Pine Island, Lake Winnipesaukee, pens, 'You put me on the spot with the California gang when you said that I was happy to be East again. My several moves back and forth across the country have taught me that it is good policy to be neutral, just neutral!" .... Wise Ed .... but down in Fla. he'll have to jump one side or other of the fence.
SPUDDY PISHON Mention of that beloved name starts a chain of tender memories in the heart of many Dartmouth men Howard Bushway (none other than J. Howard, V. P. and Gen. Mgr., Bushway-Whiting Ice Cream Cos.) wrote us, "When you have a chance, will you drop a line about Spud Pishon. When I was flying airplanes alone giving exhibitions for the Red Cross just before we all enlisted, Spud Pishon came down where I had an old Curtis-Pusher-Type which I had purchased from Capt. Baldwin. I had it over to the Charles River and was going to fly over Braves Field at the opening game. Spud came over when I was trying to find out what was wrong with the motor (it had flown into the Pawtuck River two weeks before to get filled with salt water). I noticed the great interest he took. He wanted to take a ride but it was only a one-seater. It brought things home to me the other night when I read Fitch's book, 'Flying Over the Italian Front.' I won- dered if you had any information as to how he met his death, in what way, how many hours training he had before being sent up solo, etc. I would appreciate it very much if you could send me some information.
"He certainly was a great boy, and for what little time I spent at Dartmouth, I can say this, Spud stands out to me more than any other boy I knew there."
Any information that anyone, in or out of the class, can supply to answer Howard's request or to supplement the meagre details we have, will be greatly appreciated.
