Steve Smith gets a "Distinction" for long-range planning. His son Reid graduated on Sundayjune 10, and the Smiths then rolled right into reunion on the nth. A full reunion report will appear in the next issue.

"Why," asks Dean Anderson "aren't young people today more interested in the global environment and the future of the planet? They seem more interested in the future of NASDAQ."

Not content simply to sit and speculate, Dean is a player for the planet. He started and ran the first consultancy in Europe devoted exclusively to climate change mitigation. Now, as president and CEO of Poma of America based in Grand Junction, Colorado, he's looking to diversify the fabled ski-lift maker into renewable energy and hydrogen.

Naturally, Dean is into skiing and nature, as are his children—Hatilie, a ski instructor, river guide, mountaineer and caterer, and Eric, a professornal ski patrolman and emergency medical technician.

Rob Abraham has practiced internal medicine in Canton, Connecticut, for 25 years Judy is a private practice physical therapist and the children are pursuing diverse careers. Joseph is close to a Ph.D. in epidemiology public health Jonathan is a founding partner of a Manhattan law firm and Paula is manager of special events for the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Rob and Dave Johnston solve the worlds problems, or, at least, eat well, in a Hartford, Connecticut, area mens group, and Rob and Noel Fidel ran Class 1-2 rapids together last spring.

Another Dartmouth doctor with an adventurous bent is Bruce Berger, a Hopewell, New Jersey, dermatologist and surgeon who specializes in skin cancer detection. Bruce's most recent out-of-jersey experience was an expedition to the remote Falkland and South Georgia islands, where he retraced the final segment of the legendary Schackleton expedition trek.

In a totally green union, Bruce's daughter Elizabeth '94, a Microsoft product planner with a Duke is married to Jordan Friedman '94, son of Richard Friedman. Bruce points out that if the couple has an offspring (I'll just put the name Eleazar into the hat for consideration) it will be a quadruple legacy. Older brother Scott is a teacher and coach.

Neal Zimmerman is a business intelligence consultant for SAP American based in Atlanta. Sherrie is a hospital nurse. Aaron graduates this spring from SUNY Oneonta.

Enjoy your family and the summer. And keep in touch.
