Chapin writes under date of January 12 that he and Mrs. Chapin were on the point of moving from Ann Arbor, Mich., to Manhattan, Kans., where their address would be 1119 Laramie St. He does not give the reason for the move, but it may be inferred that the son with whom they have been living is making a change of base and that they are going with him. He mentions the recent marriage of a granddaughter, the daughter of their son William (Dartmouth 'O3). He reports 13 grandchildren. The Secretary thought he held the record at 11, but yields as gracefully as he can!

Clark reports his activities as carrying on a garden in the summer, and at this season keeping the fire, reading the papers, and taking a walk every good day.

Gile continues to do more or less work in his profession of engineering, but has sold his car and does not expect to get another.

Ball wrote on January 19 that he had just returned from a visit to a son and a daughter in Bridgeport and Old Greenwich, Conn., and expected to set out about the first of February for St. Joseph, Mo., where he has a daughter.

Warren Story's letters have been always intermittent, so the failure to hear from him last year was not interpreted as meaning that he had left us, but a letter just received from his daughter brings the news that he died nearly two years ago. See the Necrology for a fuller notice.
