I am grateful to Lance Keeler for his note in response to my plea for class news. Lance married the former Janet Steff in Marion, Mass., last August. Among the Green contingent on hand for the wedding were '64s Bob Raisor, Bob Field, Bob Cahners and Bob Freeman. (I never realized we had so many Bobs!) Lance is presently an associate instructor in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literature at Indiana University in Bloomington. He is working on a Ph.D. in that department, as is Kay Wakefield.
"Tad" Kiefaber and his wife Carol are the parents of yet a second son. Tad will be mustered out of the Navy soon, and plans to return to Dayton, Ohio.
Roger Hull writes that he is presently special counsel to Governor Jim Holton and is working on his LL.D. and S.J.D. degrees at the University of Virginia in International Law. His new address is 1800 Jefferson St., Charlottesville, Va.
Mike Bender, a Denver lawyer, is the proud father of a son, Jeremy. His charming wife Judy helps Mike man his own firm.
Henry Klinker wrote a great note recently. Seems that he graduated from Stanford Law School and is now in practice in San Diego as the "bull" associate (he claims that means the last step before partnership) for Hillyer and Lewin, a 15- man firm. On July 31 he married Lesa Madison Shepherd in Charleston, W. Va., whom he describes as "a nurse, a great cook and a fantastic bartender." Henry's hobbies are tennis, surfing, and collecting oriental rugs. He expects to be working in some capacity at the Republican Convention in San Diego this summer, and invites any '64's who may be in town for the event to "crash" at his place. "There's only one Klinker!"
Harvey Tettlebaum is married to the lovely former Ann Safier (Wellesley '66) and is living on a 270-acre farm with a basset hound and golden retriever. Besides reaping a great deduction, it is rumored that Harv is being paid handsomely for not growing anything! He may be reached during harvest months at Route 2, California, Mo.
John Fishel rates a cheer for his Ph.D. in Political Science 'from Indiana University. He is now an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse. John invites any '64's passing through La Crosse to visit him at 906 Main Street in Onalaska.
Jim Pfau writes that he and his charming wife and their two daughters are living in the Netherlands, where Jim manages a small subsidiary of the Corning Glass Works.
Werner Kuhn is alive and well and teaching law and international business and trade as an assistant professor in the Department of Maritime Law and Economics at the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N. Y. Werner serves as president of the Ripon Society of New York, a progressive Republican organization made up of young academicians, professionals, and business people. If you listen very closely, you can hear a rising scream emanating from C. Wendell Smith's garret in Cambridge.
Finally, the height of irony must be reported. Whitney "Black Whit" Goit was last seen frequenting a Los Angeles health food store called The Grist Mill. Spies tell me that Whit is making an astonishing bid at wholesome, clean living. Rumors that he is secretly attempting to corner the world's market in organically-grown hops and barley are consistent with the unfounded speculation that he is about to market a potent new liquid dietary supplement called "Uncle Whitney's Muscle Sauce," soon to be available at your local pharmacy. Six cans of the stuff make you pass out and invariably awaken in the Theta Delt tube room!
That's about it for the news bag. Please drop a line with news about yourself or other '64's. Later.
