The Secretary's Christmas letter went out as usual at Christmas, and the "cockles of his heart" were not only warmed but sent to fever heat, due to his pleasure and pride at the remarkable cooperation and support given him by his classmates, for they enabled him to include in his letter some word or message from each and every living member of the class—graduates, non-graduates, and honorary member -not one missed out. His request to his classmates for information was mailed on December 12, the replies came in and were embodied in the Christmas letter which was mailed less than two weeks thereafter. If other secretaries can report such prompt and unanimous cooperation and support from their classmates, should they not let it be known?
Al Briggs of Chelsea recently called on the Secretary—Al remarkably retains the vigorous manner and bearing of his college days. His son, Paul '11, has a fine position as general manager of Hicks & Hodges Co. of Boston, one of the large New England distributors of meats and poultry.
In the "horse and buggy" days Al was a great admirer of fine driving horses and owned some of the best. At present, however, his greatest animal hobby is his Boston terrier "Gypsy," which he claims is an almost perfect specimen of the breed and is his constant companion when he is at home. As Billy Rockwood and his wife have a similar feeling regarding their snow-white chow "Jackie", should they get together they would have an interesting discussion about their devoted canine friends.
